Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed that it sold a total of 6,032 motor cars delivered to customers in 2023, the greatest number in the marque's 119-year history.
This number is greater than the sales record of 6,021 vehicles the firm achieved in 2022, which was the first year that the firm saw more than 6,000 vehicles produced within a 12-month period in its history.
2023 saw the firm ending production of the Wraith and Dawn models as well as the start of production of the Spectre, the firm's very first all-electric model. The Rolls-Royce Spectre is said to have attracted enormous interest, particularly among younger clients. This demand has translated into orders for the model extending into 2025.
2023 also saw Rolls-Royce extending its Private Office network to Shanghai. Originally starting in Dubai in 2022, the Private Office offers clients direct access to Rolls-Royce's own designers and engineers, and the impact of this move is said to be significant, with the firm facing a marked increase in the number and complexity of bespoke commissions. Roll-Royce states it will extend its Private Office programme with two new international locations located in Seoul and North America in 2024.
Rolls-Royce reports that it saw sales growth in the majority of the markets in which it operates, with deliveries reaching new record levels in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Europe regions.
The U.S.A was Rolls-Royce's single largest market worldwide, while Greater China reaffirmed its status as the marque's second-largest market. Record sales were also achieved in Europe, where the U.K. is the largest single market. The firm states that the Cullinan was its most requested model worldwide in 2023, followed by the Ghost.
