With the global economy bleeding red especially in Europe, Opel and Vauxhall are currently in crisis and facing potential plant closures in both Germany and UK. At this point of time, any plans for Opel to produce a coupe could likely be forgotten in time, like the masculine Opel GTC or awesome Saab Aero X.
Nevertheless, the imagination of the human mind is fortunately free and inquisitive. As such it wouldn’t hurt to imagine what a sporty coupe with an Opel (or Vauxhall) insignia would look like. Designer David Cardoso, sent an online automotive website his rendered vision of the two door coupe. His GT Coupe concept utilises the Chevrolet Camaro’s rear wheel drive platform.
According to David, the sporty four seater, twin door could be considered as an Insignia coupe, but would rather suit as the new “Calibra”. The rear is inspired by the Insignia, while the side and front have design features of the Astra GTC and the Flextreme concept.
P.S. Mr. Michael Bay, for your kind attention and consideration for potential Autobots for Transformers 4.
