Opel has said that the new Astra and Astra Sports Tourer, which celebrated its world premieres at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show in January, have been available for order since February 2026.
At first glance, the new generation of Opel's compact class bestseller appears more modern, sharper and even more distinctive. The Opel Blitz brand emblem sits centrally in the even narrower and more precisely designed Opel Vizor, which is now illuminated for the first time on the Astra.
It also offers new rim designs for its 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as two new exterior metallic colours - Kontur White and Klover Green, as well as an optional contrasting black roof. Opel's Intelli-Lux HD light is also available as an option and comes as standard on the new top-of-the-range "Ultimate" trim.
The new gen Astra also has a more optimised interior, with Intelli-Seats as standard in every model variant featuring a special recess running in the middle of the seat. This helps to reduce pressure on the tailbone. In addition, new visualisations and graphics on the infotainment screens contribute to a more modern look.
As for its fully electrified powertrain, the Astra Electric comes with a power output of 115kW and a 58kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 454km. Its hybrid variant offers 144bhp, while the plug-in hybrid option coughs up 193bhp. It also has a diesel variant that delivers 129bhp of power.
And depending on the variant, the Astra has up to 1,339 litres of boot space with the seats folded down. This goes up to 1,634 litres in the Astra Sports Tourer.
