Toyota Hilux Double Cab Diesel
HiLux from Skylink Auto, entire experience extremely disappointing
I am extremely disappointment and dissatisfaction regarding my recent purchase of a HiLux from Skylink Auto.
Despite having a signed sales agreement, and salesman promise ex stock, the entire delivery process has been unreasonably delayed. When the vehicle finally became available for collection, the promised solar film, clearly promised several times will use 3M products, was not installed. This is a clear breach of the agreed terms.
Additionally, Mr. Jason Chua repeatedly assured me that he would provide a $100 CashCard as a goodwill gesture to compensate for the inconvenience. However, these promises were not fulfilled, and my follow-up WhatsApp messages have been ignored. Such behaviour is highly unprofessional and reflects poorly on the company.... Read More

BYD Seal 6 Electric
Happy to own the Seal 6 as my first EV
This is a quick review of the car after owning it for 1 week. I have not seen another car of the same model on the road yet, as it's only launched recently. Yay, this will be the first review in sgcarmart.
I upgraded from a 9.5 year old 2015 Kia Cerato K3. BYD by 1826 ran a roadshow in a mall near my house. I test drove Seal 6 and bought it the next day. It's a bit of an impulse purchase, but not really as I already did some research on EVs before. I have not tested other EVs/hybrids, but I roughly knew the price difference of comparable models would be at least $20-30k more so there is no need to test anyway, as price is the main consideration for me (although I have a baseline of features that I want).
I skipped hybrid, and jumped from ICE to EV directly. Wow, the Seal 6 EV is a huge upgrade to my Kia K3. I missed out on the technology advancements in the last 10 years, and this car impresses me in (almost) all possible ways.
The Seal 6 is 500kg heavier than my Kia K3 (all EVs are heavier than comparable ICE due to battery weight), which translates to a sturdier and less bumpy ride. My daughter, who sits in the rear, used to complain about having motion-sickness when I drove the Kia K3. Now the problem is gone (same driver, different car). The road imperfections on my familiar routes are now more comfortable to pass.
Initially, the steering wheel gave me a slight floating feel, but I get to used to it quickly. The drivetrain and acceleration (10.9s) is decent, and it is a small improvement compared to my Kia K3 (12s). I am not an aggressive driver. If you are looking for a sporty ride, check out the Seal (not Seal 6) instead.
It is very easy to transition from Kia K3 to the Seal 6. It drives exactly like an ICE, but adds a lot of new technologies. You may think that these are just icings/toys, but some are actually very useful. Some physical buttons (hazard light) still exist. There is no physical button for temperature and fan speed, but they can be accessed with a quick menu on the screen, or via the navigation buttons and scroll bar on the steering wheel.
I didn't have trouble with charging. I already watched some YouTube videos (search @LearnsMarketing) so I know what to look out for.
Simply put. The Seal 6 EV (in fact, all BYD models) gives you *excellent* value for money. Go try it and decide for yourself.... Read More

DEEPAL S07 Electric
Well put together
I had the opportunity to take the 007 for a test drive. Ride firm but reasonably well damped - apparently it has the same chassis as the well accomplished Mazda e6 and the suspension tuned in the UK. Lots of features but no buttons prevent a dash board - it uses a HUD which has quite some information projected including navigation directions. Navigation works well with a soft voice prompting you enamating from a small speaker in the drivers seat. Not audible to passengers - cool.
The car was designed by Italian design house - hence the Lambo like features. The interior id well put together and minimalist - no interior door handles even. Screen is large but complicated but voice commands are well obeyed! Not like European models which are deaf and stupid.
At this price point, the BYD Sealion 7 may have a serious competitor.... Read More

Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class Mild Hybrid
The Mercedes-Benz GLB: Singapore's Most Versatile Compact Luxury SUV?
Finding a family car in Singapore is a delicate balancing act. You need something practical for school runs and weekend duties, refined to justify the premium badge, compact enough to navigate HDB lots—and ideally fuel-efficient to survive the COE climate without guilt. Mercedes-Benz believes it has the answer with the facelifted 2024 GLB 180, a compact SUV with seven-seat capability and the familiar Mercedes sense of occasion. But does it deliver? I spent some time with it to find out.
On the Road: Comfort First, Performance Second
The GLB 180 leans towards comfort, and it does so confidently. Its suspension tuning is noticeably soft, soaking up patchy asphalt and speed bumps with ease—perfect for the urban grind. Steering is well weighted and predictable, making the GLB feel smaller than it looks, especially in tight multi-storey carparks.
The mild-hybrid setup also deserves credit. The 48-volt system and belt-driven starter-generator smooth out start-stop transitions, lending a welcome boost when pulling away from junctions. But push the GLB harder—such as with a full family on board or when tackling steep ramps—and the limitations of the modest 1.3-litre turbo engine become clear. Overtaking requires careful planning, and the engine can sound strained when worked.
The upside? The cabin is now more technologically cohesive, thanks to the facelift's updated digital displays, upgraded USB-C ports, and refresh to the MBUX interface.
Verdict: A Thoughtful, Versatile Family SUV—With Caveats
The 2024 facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLB 180 remains one of the most versatile and family-friendly premium SUVs available in Singapore. Its blend of real-world practicality, seven-seat flexibility, compact urban manoeuvrability, and unmistakable Mercedes cabin refinement makes it a strong contender for families wanting a premium yet sensible vehicle.
It is not perfect—power is modest, some key features are missing, and equipment omissions (like the panoramic sunroof and rear air vents) may frustrate buyers. However, judged as a whole, the GLB 180 stands as one of the most balanced and thoughtfully packaged compact luxury SUVs currently available.... Read More

All I can say is i am very satisfied, go drive one to know and feel one. I'm glad to have found this car.... Read More

Dongfeng 007 Electric
Excellent Experience with Dongfeng 007
My wife and I recently went for a test drive of the Dongfeng 007, and we were both extremely impressed. The salesman we met was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain all the features and details of the car clearly, without any pressure or rush.
During the test drive, the Dongfeng 007 really stood out. It was smooth, quiet, and powerful. The interior felt premium, the technology was intuitive, and the overall driving experience exceeded our expectations. Both my wife and I immediately felt confident and comfortable behind the wheel.
What truly made the experience special was the salesperson's attitude. He was genuine, attentive, and made sure all our questions were answered. His professionalism and patience gave us full confidence in both the car and the brand.
By the end of the day, we were so impressed that we decided to go ahead with the purchase. We are now proud owners of the Dongfeng 007 and could not be happier with our decision.
We highly recommend the Dongfeng team for their excellent service and dedication to customer satisfaction. Truly a five-star experience all around.... Read More

Tesla Model S Electric
A Futuristically Fun Driving EV
Driving the Tesla Model 3 is an engaging blend of technology, comfort, and performance. Its minimalist cabin, panoramic glass roof, and whisper-quiet operation create a serene yet futuristic atmosphere, while the firm but improved suspension delivers a balanced ride on city roads. The intuitive touchscreen interface, one-pedal driving, and seamless app integration make it feel more like piloting a smart device than a car. Instant torque provides exhilarating acceleration, perfectly suited for quick lane changes and expressway bursts, even if traffic limits its full potential. Charging is increasingly convenient with Tesla's expanding Supercharger network and destination points across malls, though planning remains key for longer journeys. The car's advanced Autopilot system already enhances long drives with intelligent lane-keeping and adaptive cruise control, and many look forward to the eventual rollout of Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities to fully realize its high-tech potential. Overall, the Model 3 offers a sophisticated, high-tech, and genuinely fun-to-drive experience that turns everyday commutes into something special in the Singapore setting.... Read More

Tesla Model Y Electric
Perfect (Almost) Car for me
After driving the Tesla Model Y Juniper in Singapore for about three months, here's a personal review — the good, the less good, and how it holds up in Singapore conditions.
Putting together practicality + daily use + local conditions:
Daily urban use: Excellent. Smooth start/stop, easy to park, the tech features (large screen, minimal cabin, good visibility) make it a pleasure. The quiet cabin makes city noise less of a burden in Singapore's dense soundscape.
Charging / range anxiety: Minimal for me. My condo has 5 car park lots EV charging stations and my office is just next to Tesla TPY. Tesla claimed 466km for full charge, and I'm getting around 400km which lasted me slightly more than a week of travels, which I have no complaints.
Heat & humidity context: The silver-coated panoramic roof + improved insulation do make a difference — cabin stays cooler when parked in sun, and wind/road noise is less audible which helps when using AC in Singapore's heat.... Read More
