Affordable entry level performance vehicle.
Make no mistakes: this is not just a bodykitted Colt. This hot hatch was developed during the hey-days when Mitsubishi and Ralliart were still dominating with their Lancer Evolutions and investing heavily in their racing endeavours. This Colt Ralliart Version-R went through extensive R&D like aerodynamic wind tunnel tests and borrowed some of its racing techs from the Evo. Even the chasis is spot welded and reinforced with multiple strut braces. Sadly, the wheels were front driven only - a decision probably made to keep the costs down. The sports tuned suspension helped keep the vehicle firmly planted, albeit being alittle stiff and uncomfortable. The CVT Colt Version-R is rated at 154bhp while the Manual Version-R is rated at 163bhp. I myself was driving the CVT before deciding to change to the manual Version-R instead. With some simple mods and proper tuning, this car can easily achieve 220-240bhp, the maximum power the small turbo can manage to churn out.... Read More
