Consumer Reviews

A small car that is very spacious and can park in the smallest parking spaces.
Very economical to run, can get parts in easily across the causeway and all work shops there know how to service this car.
Very good for head room and big glass windows give a good view out and adds to feeling of spaciousness.
Pick up is good for such a small engine and keeps up well for city driving.

Good reliable car that I'm driving for more than 2 years. Good FC & easy maintenance. Interior space & seating height. Worth for money as a budget car but engine noise is too obvious. Already clocked 45K.

It's a good and reliable budget car. Design by Daihatsu.
FC is good but must drive below 3000/rpm or 90km/hr can hit around 14km/l.
Above 3000/rpm, 2nd valve open and use more fuel.
Must do some mods for a good ride.
Mods on Tyre, Sound system, Strud bar, sound proof, Suspension pad recomended.
It's not a sport car, don't speed.
Parking and U turns is easy, that's why handling is *****

I had been driving the car for 1 year plus and so far there's nothing much to complain because its quite cheap when I bought it. Less than $38K. Simple car to bring you from point A to point B. Spare parts can be easily found in JB, cheap. I drove usually short distance hence the fuel consumption is around 13km/L. If go for long distance it could go around 15km/L. Better than buying Cherry QQ. I bought manual because for car with small cc is best to get the manual. DO NOT BUY AUTO. No Power!!! Something to take note of... RPM must no go above 3000. The moment it goes above 3000, the fuel consumption efficiency will drop. For best results, Maintain at RPM2500. I drove this car up to Malacca and back... not problem. But don't drive too fast. Car will tend to shake when above 90km/h. Top speed can go up to 140km/h, but very unstable can hit 160km/h when during down slope when going to Malacca.

My sister is driving this car since 2004 in east Malaysia.
occasionally, when i go there will drive also.
it is very economical and reliable car, the car clocked 150k now, no major repair, periodic maintenance like timing belt, overhaul was done, never breakdown on the road. was soaked in waist high flood numerous times, interior fully refurbished every flood event n therefore the car interior still look new haha.
due to poor road condition there, the car chasis become loose and rattle sounds getting more, absorbers worn out very fast, wind noise is more significant now.

This is my 1st car and recommended by a friend to buy this as I didn't want to spend too much money on my 1st car.
Bought this on the resale market when it was 11 months old and I have been driving it for 9 months now.
Honestly, I have to say that there is nothing fantastic about it's appearance, interior and gadgets. It's a basic 1L car that gives you the bang for the buck...as compared to it's competition in the 1L cat.
I immediately went to bump up the sound system and install tints for the windows the very day I got the ride. Couple of days later, went up north to get the exterior styled and install leathers for the interior. Swooped up the absorbers and slap on new tires. Finally, did the 20k servicing and I must say that I enjoy the ride now.
It is nothing compared to Jap made cars within the same category but hey, it's a cheap ride so enjoy the bumps and the rough ride...honestly, what would you expect from something under 30k in the used car market with 9 years left to drive.
Till today, I still love my car despite it being just an average and some say poor quality car.
The advice is....don't expect too much out of a cheap ride and you will appreciate it better.

Small car yet powerful. The look is also cute. It can modify with different kind of design.Compared to driving a big car, it is easy to handle, especially when you are parking carparks which has very small lots. The car handling become much stable after installing front strut bar. Good fuel consumption and excellent choice for 1st time budget driver.

I have owned this car for a year and should say never regret buying it. This car is cheap to maintain and have a reliable daihatsu 1.0cc DOHC engine. Fc is good too can clocked about 16km/l.Overall a great value for money car that sits ur family in comfortably, from point A to B. especially if you dun really need the latest high tech functions.

Seriously they should facelift the whole body and engine. High speed corner is a no-no for this car. Too expensive in my opinion

It may be only 989CC but it can match any 1300CC or even 1500CC car in terms of speed in city driving. If you have budget constraint, this is the best car to own if you are just travelling for point A to point B with a small goods compartment for all your weekly groceries and even furnitures like small cupboards.

~The pick up performance will be improve by changing performance sparkplug and performance filter. Therefore this car become no shortcoming in terms of pick up for a 1000cc car.
~In term of price, this car is cheaper than other brands car in terms cc. The engine is daihatsu engine. Worth buying.
~The looks can be changed easily due to there is a lots of facelift selling in malaysia. Good investment.
~Tyres and rims can be changed to 15inch no problem.
~Fuel comsumption for 15inch rim, 14km/L no problem. Without aircon ON, can hit 16km/l easily.

terrible cornering, terrible handling.
Only good for fuel consumption.
How could the management at perodua approve this???
