Looks wise, it definitely turns more head compared to its peers.
the powerful engine accelerates smoothly and the quiet cabin and internal finishes are top notch.
the internal blue LED lights gives off a futuristic vibe and the drive is much more refined compared to the previous model.
this is definitely a big improvement .
This car was chosen because of safety as it has long wheel base body you will feel safe when someone is following too close at the same time it is very responsive and quiet as it powered by a v8 engine comfort was excellent as it is using air suspension, interior was average
The car is not available yet but I have only test driven the petrol version and the XF diesel which has the same engine and same power/weight ratio. The "Reliability" rating above is based on sometimes less-than-perfect reliability of Jags in the past rather than knowledge of this car.
The feel of both cars I drove was exemplary both in handling, acceleration, ease of driving and comfort. I really like the external design of the XJ though the interior is a little to kitchy for me - that much touted central clock on the dash is particularly over the top and there is generally too much chrome around even though one expects more of it in a Jag.
However I'm willing to overlook that and the lack of a heads-up display and soft-close doors for all the other merits of the car. It feels good to drive, the gear change knob (same as in the XF) becomes intuitive really easily as does the use of gear change paddles. Six gears is one less than a BMW 7 series but one can't complain about the smooth and rapid performance.
the high-res instrument display is surprisingly good though anyone really fammiliar with display technology will realise it's not the highest density available - hopefully the next gen be even higher resolution but this is still very good.
All in all a very appealing and desirable alternative to the three German competitors which feel boring and emotively heavy by comparison.
