Consumer Reviews

Review made based on S60 D4 model.
interior build quality is pretty good for its price range.
lots of soft touch materials even at lower portion of the panels.
initial perspective on the center console was its messy layout, but the buttons and switches feels very solid to touch.
My previous car came will touch screen (it is rather troublesome having to go into the screen to adjust just the fan speed, especially while driving). I definitely prefer physical buttons.
handling is reasonable sharp (running on 235/40/R18 wheels), and feels better than our B7 passat.

Before having this car i wondered why there are so many of these cars on the road. Now having driving for past few years, I realise it will be a difficult, difficult car to replace.
The seats from the newer line up && competition doesn't seem as comfortable??

I have been driving the s60 D2 for a year. It has been a wonderful experience and I really love this car. It feels very solid as it's heavy and u feel safe inside but at the same time it does not feel heavy to drive being very easy to handle.
Fuel consumption is best, travelled more than 800km on average on 65 bucks worth of fuel ( around 14km/litre).
It is quiet and the door is Solid unlike Jap cars. Power wise it is powerful at speeds of 80 to 100kmph n u can feel that the accelerator can pick up further very fast, have not tried top speed but I guess 160kmph is not an issue though not tried yet. It is very stable at high speeds given its weight. Cornering is good, I can do corners at 80kmph to 100kmph n the car maintains a stable steering without any leaning on any side. Brake is very good, can come to a good stop steadily just within a few metres. Only con is the pick up at first but u get used to it soon n the city braking system which is a good safety feature though. Exterior is nice and posh n interior seats are so comfy that my friends fell asleep easily. Thumbs up to the maker!

I've been driving the S60 D2 for 1.5 years and loving the ride so far. None of my passengers (colleagues) who sit in my car comment abut the engine noise. It is quite negligible. The gear box is quite responsive if you step a little bit harder (compared to petrol car) and can be very powerful and fast for overtaking cars with the turbocharged engine.

Bought the car in March'15. The D2 diesel version was at a great price and managed to get a great deal for service warranty.

Tested the S60 D2 some time ago, didnt have the time to write review till today.
The 1st look.....like an earlier version of S60 despite the gasoline sibling has more curves.
Interior seems kinda old fashion from the earlier S60 whereas the new S60 gasoline looks much more appealing in the same model.
The drive....it has an excellent pickup and torque, perhaps cause its diesel.
The only drawback I can find is the maintenance as diesel as I don't find it common in SG and may have to end with agent repair which can be costly.
Overall a good drive and pickup. Only hope the interior can be same good looking like its gasoline silbling.

I have been driving S60 D2 model few days short of a month. So far very satisfied with the consumption and no problem hitting pass 1000km per tank. Power wise not an issue to me. Very good torque at low rpm. There is definitely more than sufficient power to pull ahead when at stand still. Engine noise is acceptable, quiet in fact during normal driving. Only when accelerating hard (turbo kicks in?) it becomes noisy. But it is still quite acceptable.

This is my update review after getting my car and driving it daily.
The seats are the best ever. Better than my lazy chair. After working the whole day, sitting in the seat is very relaxing. The A/c is every cold - i leave it at 23C, coupled with my solar film, its cool even on a hot day. The transmission is silk smooth. Engine is very strong with good acceleration, mild turbo lag at times if engaged with low RPM. Turbo lag not noticeable unless stepping hard on the pedal from standstill. Getting almost 1100km on 50% city / highway drive. Full tank $100 only!
The boot is smaller than similar sized sedan, so need to arrange load efficiently. Steering is responsive but not as smooth as BMW. The auto headlights are nice, still haven't read manual on how to use the auto wipers - lol.
The interior finishing are top notch. Rear seat space are comfortable, I can sit comfortable (I am 1.9m tall)

Test drove the car, quite a good ride, engine was responsive and low-end torque was good. Handling was a little bumpy (Alexandra road?)..but turbo kicked in early and the boost can be felt with a heavier foot for sure. Some turbo lag is experienced.
Gearbox not CVT..(6speed)..Gear change from 2-3-4 can be felt. this is abit "new" to me as I've been on CVT (honda) for the past 9 years..
Engine noise can be heard from interior for sure.

I went to book the S60 D2 version from the road show at the special price. Had the test drive next day. Interior is posh, as expected from luxury brand, better than A4 (which cost more). D2 version has more features than the T4 (for lower price due to CEVS rebate) and same specs as the T5.
Engine noise is only a low hum, only noticeable with the A/c off.
The seats are very comfortable, a little bit warm (maybe I accidentally turned on the heaters lol)
The handling of the S60 a little stiff, as previous version but comfortable and responsive enough for day to day drive.
Suspension is good, went over 100kmh in the short stretch of road, ride is smooth.
