Great car for pottering around town.
I've been driving the 520d for almost a year and I love it. In fact I've driven this 5 series model for a total of 3 years, but with different engines. Just a little background: I used to drive the 523i for 2 years prior and although it was a great car, it was a bit of a gas guzzler ~8-9km/l and had several small issues so I traded it up.
I have a PI model (imported from UK) because PML did not have a diesel 5er back then. I have upgraded comfort seats, premium hi-fi and factory fitted m-sports kit. I would say the seats were the biggest improvement for me, and if you have the budget to spec your own car, go for the comfort seats. If you listen to music a lot, go for the premium hi-fi too. It's a big difference from the base spec hi-fi which is rather poor. This is why I rated this 3/5 on features because the base spec from PML lacked all the little creature comforts that should have come with a luxury sedan.
The facelifted 520d, or the entire 5 series range in general, is certainly much improved. I would highly recommend the 535d if budget allows as it is a much better and smoother engine.... Read More
