I recently purchased the XPeng G6 Air model and have driven over 3,000 km so far, including a long-distance trip to Ipoh, Malaysia (approximately 1,650 km). Overall, my experience has been very positive.
The driving performance stands out immediately. The handling is stable and confidence-inspiring, while the suspension provides a good balance between comfort and road feedback. The motor delivers strong and responsive power, making both city driving and highway cruising effortless.
Inside, the white interior feels modern, spacious, and comfortable, contributing to an enjoyable driving environment. The software system is another highlight โ it is clean, smooth, and intuitive to use, very similar to operating a smartphone.
One of the most impressive features is the auto-parking system. The remote parking function is extremely useful, especially in tight parking spaces with narrow pillars. In addition, the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Centering Control (LCC) significantly reduce driver fatigue. During heavy traffic on the North-South Highway over the holiday season, these features made long-distance driving much more relaxed and stress-free.
In terms of efficiency, the car performs well against its WLTP rating of 480 km. Even at higher cruising speeds of around 130 km/h and without using regenerative braking, it is still able to achieve over 400 km of range, which is very impressive.
Overall, I would rate the XPeng G6 a full 5 stars based on my experience.
A comfortable seat with a simplicity interior makes driving the car enjoyable . The comprehensive safety features of the car allows you to drive with no worries even during high volume of traffic. A great car comes with power, comfort and safety that allow a great driving experience for everyday.
Bought the G6 Performance after test drove the Long Range. I decided to upgrade it without test driving the Performance version even though LR serves me well. It was a well rounded package giving you all the high spec other brands couldn't provide. Very quiet and comfortable drive leading to less stressful journey. My daughter enjoys traveling and napping in it. I have never seen her so excited in my previous BMW 318i. I tested Tesla 3, Y, Mercedes EV & ICE, BMW 5 ICE, Lexus NX, Avatr 11 before decided on G6. Many drivers and pedestrians underestimate the power and speed of this car unknown to them. I encountered many occasions where drivers trying to overtake me in a tight car length only to find themselves in misjudgements. Pedestrians trying to dash across traffic only to find themselves jumping back to pavement. But it brings me smile as a "crouching tiger" on the road.
I went in with the intention to buy.
Deliberately drove my smaller Japanese car there as I didnt want to be profiled and overcharge for not taking a loan and for not wanting to trade in any car.
The lady sales rep attitude was horrible.
Not sure why she insisted on serving me while at the same time had an appt with another guest.
I was so put off that I went to BYD and booked a Denza D9 instead
The car is a very comfortable drive. However the UI still feels a little buggy at times and not very user friendly. Hope this gets improved in time. As for the dealer, after-sales service a little subpar but more importantly, learned that the repair fees are way too astronomical
Submit online request for test drive 2 times totally no response. I wonder next time if need support on the car, what kind of service will they provide. Decided to go for other brand with better sales service.
Test drove the car and can say it is not far from say, BMW iX3. Only thing is the badge may not have the same panache. But for those who are not coloured by brand, its definitely a good buy (like for like comparison with other EVs).
@Petelli Speaking of which, people who buy LBX are just badge wh**es who can't afford the real thing but desperately need to have the badge and are willing to pay $200k for a glorified Yaris. Low power, low torque, small and squeezy interior. Geez!
Super nice car feels like first class plane but honestly everything about the car is perfect but only problem is the sales staff seem super judgemental and service was super bad from a female stuff..
Sadly to see that xpeng can do more with the car and future cars but only problem is they have to hire the right sales staff..
It is a nice looking SUV with all features available for you to use with constant software updates (based on recent release globally) that shows the company is investing heavily on it's technology and AI. They take customer's feedback seriously and improve from there. The test drive was too short as it was just a drive around cbd but the sales person did provide a walkthrough on most of the features. Impressed by the capability of the car, quiet, smooth and we didn't feel any heat from the moonroof during our afternoon test drive. Car has enough oomph at 6.6s (100km/h) for the SR. Model Y requires you to top up for extra features and no apple/android carplay. There is cover for the frunk (they removed it in the showroom) but no storage space but you can easily swap it out with a proper frunk from taobao. Can't wait for the car to be collected in a week or so.
Have seen the car , not test drive yet.
Not bad looking , quite similar to Model Y
Back seat ate very comfortable as it can tilt back
Down side is full glass roof without sunshade , so it might be hot with sunlight
Front bonnet without a proper cover as I see other cars have a cover with a box space for putting something, maybe good for packet food.
Should state the Omv and ARF for us to calculate the depreciation.
Forgot to state , price are higher than model Y
Went for a test drive and the car immediately put a smile on my faceโฆ definitely much better pickup than the E-tron Q4. The 20-inch rims are a plus as well. Looking forward to collect!!
At this price for a Chinese car, I must as well buy a Lexus LBX, more prestigious, better resale value and Hybrid that save on road tax and insurance and range free worry.
I won't spend more than $200k on an EV which you pay on frills and gimmicks.
