First continental hot hatch
Despite having owned this car for only a few days at this point of review.. There were a lot of things different other than just a flip of signals and the entire infotainment and start stop feature moved to the left, in addition to reducing the gear selector in another family MPV of mine to just a flick of a finger was a point of acclimation. But because of all these small niggly little faults, it has made this hot hatch fitted with an m sport trim featuring a fully independent multi link rear suspension feel like you're driving in a world rally championship when in reality you're only going over a hump. But it's not all bad… despite all the eagerness I've had there were SO many features on the new BMW idrive9 that you could spin your head even if you had a IT degree with all sorts of different ways they function… as I quote Jeremy Clarkson saying how he's surprised that you don't drive it with a XBOX controller. And with that it brings me to my final point which is the drive… for a front wheel drive hot hatch just shy of 100mm shorter than my previous MPV I'd have to give this high marks… from the impressive technology package of collision prevention and braking all the way to the cruise control, you simply don't feel like you're driving *that speed* it's like swimming over a wall of whipping cream… light and fluffy, yet as you turn on the SPORT dynamic mode and turn the DSC mode OFF everything gets very angry with dials glowing red to show you, that it is ready to unleash its 1.5L turbocharged engine to prove its point racing to your local Acai station before it closes at 10.25pm. Overall a magnificent ride created by bmw. Not to mention its futuristic looks for a all petrol powered car is simply…… enthralling... Read More
