Family-Friendly EV With a Fun Side
Picked up the Kia EV5 Earth and overall, it's been a really solid buy. Comfortable, spacious, and packed with features, it works great as a daily driver and family SUV. Easy to live with and feels like good value for an EV.
A special shout out to Dominique Wong, he made the whole purchase experience even better. Patient, positive, and full of energy, he made my transition from ICE to EV smooth and very reassuring.... Read More
Kia EV5 - A Refreshing Alternative in a Crowded EV Market
With the VES/EEAI incentives and the relentless rise in COE prices, I finally decided to bite the bullet and make the switch to an EV. In today's rapidly expanding EV market, consumers are spoilt for choice across a wide range of budgets. It's a no-brainer to consider Chinese brands, given their futuristic designs and extensive feature sets at highly competitive prices.
However, I found many of their interiors too similar and overly minimalist for my taste. There's also the lingering concern about their long-term durability and aftersales supportโespecially since many of these brands are still relatively new to our local market.
After extensive research, I landed on the Kia EV5. Backed by an established brand, assembled right here in Singapore at the HMGICS facility, and supported by multiple service centers islandwide, it offers the peace of mind I was looking for. Its distinctive, boxy design also stands out in a sea of cookie-cutter EVs. Bonus points: the colour got the wife's approval. All in all, it ticked almost every box.
During the test drive, the EV5 is noticeably larger than my previous car, which made the initial drive feel a bit daunting. Thankfully, my sales rep, Mr. Dom Wong, was extremely patient and knowledgeable. He walked me through the features in great detail and guided me on a comprehensive test drive route that allowed me to experience the car's performance across different road conditions. While I already came in with the intention to buy, Dom's professionalism and easygoing manner made the entire process a lot more enjoyable.... Read More
