  • Wearnes Automotive unveils Volvo V90 Cross Country

Volvo Cars, the Swedish premium carmaker, has unveiled the eagerly awaited V90 Cross Country in Singapore, completing its 90 Series lineup.

Since the introduction of the first Cross Country almost 20 years ago, Volvo Cars has become synonymous with the rugged all-road, all-weather product category, with a growing stable of Cross Country models. Volvo Cars' Cross Country models fulfil an increasingly important part of the Swedish automaker's product portfolio as luxury car buyers seek out a more experience-based lifestyle that occasionally takes them off the beaten track.

Equipped with all-wheel drive, an optimised chassis and an increased ground clearance of 63.5mm compared to the Volvo V90, the all new Volvo V90 Cross Country has improved off-road capability, performing in all sorts of road conditions - from muddy tracks to long-distance highway driving.

The all new Volvo V90 Cross Country's exterior design cues communicate the powerful and dynamic capability that the car exemplifies, while offering the flexibility to choose from both rugged and elegant expressions.

With Volvo Cars' Scalable Product Architecture providing the underpinnings, the all new Volvo V90 Cross Country has undergone rigorous testing to ensure that it can survive the extremes in which it will ultimately find itself.

The car also takes luxurious Scandinavian interior to a new level of comfort-inspired capability, combining all the benefits of the connectivity and entertainment features that were launched with the all new S90 and V90, including a high-performance multimedia sound system.

Interior detailing includes elegantly curved decor inlay elements, sleek air blades with knurled jewel knobs and a stylish 9.0-inch iPad-style infotainment touchscreen, adding a dimension of luxury to the cabin.

At launch, the all new Volvo V90 Cross Country is available in T5 Momentum trim - a T6 is available on indent basis. The T5's turbocharged 2.0-litre engine produces a healthy 254bhp and 350Nm of torque, allowing the car to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 7.4 seconds.

As expected from the brand, the all new V90 Cross Country is also equipped with intuitive, intelligent safety technologies that support driving, helping to prevent accidents and protecting those in a collision. Car buyers can expect to be assisted by electric nannies like Adaptive Cruise Control, Distance Alert, Pilot Assist, Run-off Road Mitigation, Large Animal Detection, City Safety Auto-braking and Road Sign Information technology.

Sounds like the perfect car for your family? The all new Volvo V90 Cross Country T5 Momentum is now on sale at the Volvo showroom located along Alexandra Road. It costs $245,999 (inclusive of COE) as of 21st March 2017, with an Open Market Value of $39,221.
