  • Hyundai showcases new Venue and Palisade in Singapore

Flown in from the New York International Auto Show 2019, the compact Venue crossover and the new 2020 flagship eight-seater Palisade are here in Singapore.

Hyundai Motor Company, the world's third largest automaker, is showcasing Hyundai's latest and complete lineup of SUV models at JW Marriott South Beach Singapore, in conjunction with its 2019 Global Distributors Conference.

The Hyundai Venue, which symbolises a trendy, unique style, is expected to be officially launched in Singapore early next year
This year, Hyundai has introduced an extended range of SUV models - doubling the number from four in 2017 to eight by 2020. And for the first time in Singapore, following the New York International Auto Show 2019, Hyundai is presenting the compact Venue crossover and the premium flagship eight-seater Palisade to the public.

The Hyundai Venue is packed with a host of premium driver safety and convenience technologies, and is the perfect fit for those seeking a seamless combination of style and versatility.

The Venue will be the most affordable Hyundai SUV, and joins its larger siblings including the Kona and Kona Electric, Tucson and Santa Fe. The design of the new Venue exhibits small but confident body forms, delivering a new interpretation of Hyundai's signature design language.

The vehicle side profile showcases a solid and full volume wheel arch and strong character line, while the front cascading grille includes the new Hyundai signature face that's found on both Kona and Nexo, including composite LED lights and cube-shape headlamps.

The Hyundai Palisade name references a series of coastal cliffs and might naturally be associated by many with the Pacific Palisades in Southern California
"The Hyundai SUV lineup can be compared with the pieces on a chess board," said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President of Design, Hyundai Motor Group. "Our new Palisade is the King, but we are missing the smaller piece. And that's where Venue comes in. It may be small, but its unique and bold design sets it apart from the rest of the pack," he explained.

The Venue is expected to be launched in Singapore early 2020, and will be available with Hyundai's Smartstream Gamma 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine.

The Palisade's styling conveys dignity with style in an understated theme that demonstrates clear differentiation worthy of a flagship SUV. From the front, a dominant, bold and wide cascading grille clearly represents a premium SUV.

Separated composite headlamps and a vertically-connected forward lighting signature create a strong and distinctive front demeanour, with available LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and LED turn-signal mirrors.

On the outside, the Kona Iron Man Edition has a unique front lighting signature, including a custom daytime running light form that closely resembles the face mask and eye shape of the Iron Man suit
The interior design combines a sense of relaxation and comfort creating a serene environment with eight-passenger seating standard for family adventures.

Leather-equipped models offer a premium, quilted Nappa leather, while on the instrument panel, smooth woodgrain trim in a wraparound interior design create a spacious, comfortable ambience.

The One-Touch second row seat allows for one-touch operation of the seat forward and out of the way for easy access into and out of the third-row seat.

For more convenience, the third row offers power-folding/unfolding and reclining seats. Second-row captain's chairs are also available with ventilated seating surfaces.

Every Palisade seating row offers USB outlets for convenience for all passengers, for a total of seven available USB outlets. Even more, a conversation mirror allows the driver to clearly see passengers in the rear. Hyundai Singapore is currently working with Hyundai Motor Company on a right-hand drive version of the Palisade, and is expecting the model to be available here soon.

Also on display is the Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition, which features both exterior and interior design elements that closely resemble and give a nod to the dynamic Iron Man suit. The Kona Iron Man Edition will be available to customers via a limited global production run. Unfortunately, there are no plans for this funky limited model to be available in Singapore.
