After selling 1.2 million models of the last model worldwide, Renault has stepped up the game with a wider range of redesigned petrol and diesel engines for this all new Captur.
The new Captur will be avaliable with a choice of 1.0-litre or 1.3-litre TCe engines, ranging in various states of tune from the base 98bhp, 160Nm of torque to the TCe 155, which offers 153bhp and 270Nm of torque.
Also of note is the new addition of an E-TECH plug-in hybrid. Joining the range in 2020, this powertrain will be capable of driving up to 45km at speeds of up to 135km/h in pure electric mode, both a first for Renault and for models in this class.
The all new Renault Captur will be built on the new CMF-B modular platform, which is also shared with the current Renault Clio. This has allowed Renault to reach new levels of safety, efficiency, refinement and technology integration for the Captur.
The new Captur receives minor aesthetic tweaks, to make it look more athletic and dynamic. Longer than before by 110mm and with a higher waistline, the redesign seeks to solidify its SUV identity and impart its unmistakable presence on the road. This is also enhanced by the tough-looking front and rear protection skid plates, chunky protective mouldings that run the entire length of the lower body, and the prominent wheel arch extensions.
Another big advancement is the standard fitment of 100% LED headlamps across the range. Surrounded by Renaut's trademark C-shape daytime running light signature, these powerful units are seamlessly integrated into the design, with elements of the chrome grille running into the lamps.
The new Captur also gets the 'Smart Cockpit' layout that is angled slightly towards the driver, and a brand new floating console. Housing the latest technologies and with the optional 9.3-inch infotainment screen, it has the biggest screen in its category. Its portrait layout and slightly curved screen is both easier to use and brings cutting edge modernity to the passenger compartment, delivering a more immersive driving experience.
