Kumho Tire has announced that its ECSTA HS52 tyre has received a 'Good' rating from the German motoring association ADAC in its latest tests. The tyre is said to have beater 42 other rival tyres of the same size to rank eight overall out of the 50 tyres tested.
The ECSTA HS52 tyre features an innovative high-grip tread compound, asymmetric tread design and 3D interlocking sipes, and offers superior braking performance on wet and dry surfaces as well as improved wet grip and increased mileage when compared to its award-winning predecessor, the HS51.
Kumho Tire also announced that its ECSTA PS71 tyre shared the fifth spot (out of a total of 20 tyres tested) in a recent test by an automotive magazine. The ECSTA PS71 was awarded a 'Good' rating in the tests, and was commended for its good handling characteristics and short braking distances in both wet and dry conditions.
The PS71 utilises an asymmetric thread pattern and was one of the first major products to be developed at the company's research and development centre at Yongin near Seoul, South Korea. It has been designed for outstanding high-speed stability and strong wet weather performance.
