Renault debuts the Megane RS Trophy-R
23 May 2019|4,329 views
Renault has unveiled the New Megane RS Trophy-R, a new version in a lineage that began 15 years ago, that has set, like its iconic predecessors, a new record time of seven minutes 40.1 seconds on the Nurburgring Nordschleife in the front-wheel drive production car category.

In the tradition of Renault Sport, this new generation of the Trophy-R does not only owe its performance to its pure power.
The Megane RS Trophy-R was honed for the track by a small, dedicated team focusing on three areas - weight, aerodynamics and chassis development.
The Megane RS Trophy-R is equipped with the same 295bhp engine as Megane RS Trophy and owes its increased speed to weight reduction of up to 130kg, improved aerodynamics and the more radical development of its chassis for improved handling.
Renault Sport has built on the solid support of established partners, working with Akrapovic for the exhaust system, Brembo for the brakes, Bridgestone for the tyres, Ohlins for the shock absorbers and Sabelt for the bucket seats.
Megane RS Trophy-R will have its public debut on 24 May as part of the build up to the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco with drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg from the Renault F1 Team behind the wheel. The Megane RS Trophy-R will be marketed before the end of 2019 as an exclusive limited edition of a few hundred units.
