Volvo has unveiled its all new and highly anticipated XC90 ahead of its official launch at the Paris Motor Show. The new XC90 delivers on its promise to introduce a visually striking, premium quality SUV with world leading safety features, new powertrain technologies and a high-quality interior which can accommodate up to seven people.

The new XC90 will be the first to adorn the company's new prominent iron mark, which has the iconic arrow on the Volvo emblem aligned with the diagonal slash across the grille.
Together with the striking T-shaped 'Thor's Hammer' DRL lights, the XC90 debuts an entirely new, distinctive and confident face which will be carried over to Volvo's forthcoming generation of cars.
The XC90 offers a range of 2.0-litre four-cylinder Drive-E powertrains, all of which provide an outstanding combination of performance and fuel efficiency. The range-topping Twin Engine combines a 2.0-litre supercharged and turbocharged lump with an electric motor for a combination of power (about 400bhp) and clean operation.
The SUV also offers the most comprehensive and technologically sophisticated standard safety package available in the automotive industry, including two world first safety technologies: a run-off road protection package and autonomous braking capability at intersections.
In a run-off road scenario, the SUV detects the road scenario and the front safety belts are tightened to keep the occupants in position. To help prevent spine injuries, energy-absorbing functionality between the seat and the seat frame cushions the vertical forces that can arise when the car encounters a hard landing in the terrain.
City Safety becomes the umbrella name for all Volvo's auto brake functions - which is standard on the new XC90 and now covers vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians in front of the car.
Volvo cites the interior to be the most luxurious offering from the automaker with the highlight feature to be a large touch screen control console, which is virtually button-free and represents an entirely new way for drivers to control their car and access a range of Internet based products and services
The cabin offers materials such as soft leather and wood with handcrafted details, including a gear lever made of crystal glass from Orrefors, the famous Swedish glassmaker, and diamond-cut controls for the start/stop button and volume control.
The seven occupants are treated to new, innovatively designed seats that free up interior space for occupants of the second and third seat rows. Volvo claims the third row offers class-leading comfort for two passengers up to 1.7 metres in height.
Aural pleasure in the cabin is provided from renowned British audio equipment company Bowers & Wilkins, featuring a 1,400 Watt Class D amplifier and 19 Bowers & Wilkins speakers. It also includes one of the first air-ventilated subwoofers in a car. Integrated into the car body, it turns the whole interior space into a giant subwoofer.
The XC90 is available with two luxury packages which offer buyers a personalised car. The Urban Luxury package combines a colour coordinated body kit with polished stainless steel details, elevated by the 21-inch exclusive polished wheels. Meanwhile, the Rugged Luxury kit enhances the rugged factor of the SUV with tech matte black exterior trim, stainless steel skid plates, running boards with illumination and integrated exhaust pipes - while wearing unique 22-inch wheels.
The all new Volvo XC90 will be launched in Singapore in the second half of 2015.
