Omoda U.K. launches the flagship 9 SHS SUV

Omoda has launched its new flagship SUV, the 9 SHS (short for Self-Hybrid System), across the U.K.

The 9 SHS's advanced self-charging hybrid system, which also offers plug-in capability, gives the SUV a WLTP range of over 1,127km. The car can also cover up to 150km on electric power alone. It has a total system output of 443bhp and 700Nm of torque, enough to propel the car so that it posts a century sprint of time of 4.9 seconds.

Quiet, capable and engineered for comfort, the Omoda 9 SHS features a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, intelligent all-wheel drive, and an electromagnetic suspension system. Cabin noise is reduced to just 45.8dB at urban speeds thanks to the use of acoustic glass and specially designed acoustic tyres.

Visually, the Omoda 9 SHS is defined by golden-ratio proportions, a wide-body stance, and a dramatic LED front signature that illuminates on approach.

Inside, comfort and technology are emphasised, with standard features such as a 540-degree panoramic camera system, cabin air purification, a 1,300mm panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seats for four occupants, and a premium 14-speaker Sony surround sound system. In addition, a curved 24.6-inch HD display, ambient lighting, and electronically reclining rear seats complete its interior.

Omoda has opened order books for the car in the U.K., and states that first deliveries in the country are now underway.
