Vertex Singapore, the sole distributor of Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles in Singapore, held an official launch event for a pair of new SUVs from the brand.
Held at Shangri-La Singapore, the event introduced the new Jaecoo 5 electric SUV, along with the Jaecoo 8 Super Hybrid 7-Seater SUV, which is equipped with the latest iteration of the brand's famed plug-in hybrid powertrain.
The launch of the Jaecoo 5 and Jaecoo 8 coincides with the brand's recent achievement of crossing the 1 million units sold milestone
The launch coincides with Omoda and Jaecoo's celebration of its 1 million units sold milestone, just three years after the brand's introduction worldwide, signifying an impressive period of growth for the brand. Likewise, in our local context, Omoda and Jaecoo Singapore has recorded a remarkable year-on-year increase in sales of nearly 600% and is the third best selling EV brand here in Q1 2026.
We first saw the Jaecoo 5 at Auto Shanghai back in 2025, and it is a stylish SUV that looks like a smaller version of the Jaecoo J7, albeit with a full-electric powertrain. Unlike the boxy Jaecoo J6, the Jaecoo 5 has more rounded edges and smoother lines, blending off-road inspired design cues with the essence of premium SUVs to create an attractive urban SUV.
With 155kW and 288Nm of torque, the Jaecoo 5 offers more than sufficient power for your daily drives
The Jaecoo 5 is offered in a single-motor front-wheel drive guise, putting out 155kW (208bhp) and 288Nm of torque. Equipped with a 58.9kWh battery, the Jaecoo 5 manages a WLTP-Combined range of 402km, with up to 11kW for AC charging and 130kW for DC charging.
Inside, the Jaecoo 5 features a 13.2-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats - the interior is also certified pet-friendly.
With a substantial boot capacity, camping and karaoke functions, along with V2L, the Jaecoo 5 is designed to meet your various lifestyle needs
Designed to meet your lifestyle needs, the Jaecoo 5 offets a substantial cargo space of 480 litres, which can be expanded to 1,180 litres. It also features Camping Mode and Karaoke Functions. During the launch, the Jaecoo 5's V2L feature was also used to power a live performance.
Meanwhile, the Jaecoo 8 Super Hybrid is the first 7-Seater model by the brand in Singapore, designed to meet the needs of drivers who require space and performance. The Jaecoo 8 is packed with enough power for an impressive century sprint of 5.8 seconds, and yet is able to offer a smooth, comfortable drive with its special Continuous Damping Control system.
Equipped with a newer iteration of Jaecoo's Super Hybrid System, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with two powerful electric motors, the total system output reaches a substantial 315kW (422bhp) and 580Nm. However, what's even more impressive is the Jaecoo 8's total combined range of up to 1,200km despite its size.
Being a 7-seater SUV with a spacious three-row cabin, the Jaecoo 8 is perfect for larger families who wants to commute in comfort, especially on longer journeys. Its high-level of equipment includes electrically adjustable first row seats with massage and ventilation, along with ventilation function for the second row seats.
Both cars are also offered with a comprehensive suite of driver assist systems including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and traffic jam assist.
At launch, the Jaecoo 5 BEV is available from $169,999, while the Jaecoo 8 is available from $234,999. Both models are currently available for viewing and test drives at the Omoda and Jaecoo showrooms.
