Omoda and Jaecoo make a splash at Waterway Point!

If you're an EV enthusiast, you've probably gotten acquainted with Omoda and Jaecoo (both sub-brands under China's Chery Group), which have jointly amassed a seriously impressive following in Singapore so far.
In combination, the two brands stand as the third-best selling EV brand, as well as the sixth-best selling car brand overall in Singapore so far in 2026.
Omoda and Jaecoo's latest roadshow is promising North-Easties a chance to get up close with some of the most popular electric SUVs on Singapore's roads today
Now, those living in the North-East are getting a special look up close at the models that have driven this success thanks to the Omoda & Jaecoo x Sgcarmart Premium Brand Showcase now in action at Waterway Point.
Your entry point into O&J (Omoda and Jaecoo) ownership takes the form of the all-electric Omoda E5, which is currently retailing from just $149,999 (inclusive of COE). Notably, its price makes it one of the cheapest electric SUVs on the market now; it's also immune to the recent PARF rebate changes, thanks to its $0 ARF.
Not that you'd be able to pick up on the E5's entry-level positioning from within the cabin.
Its interior, for starters, features plenty of soft-touch materials bound together by light contrasting stitching, as well as a polished faux-wood texture on its floating centre console - both of which give it an air of elegance. Then there's also the single curved panel that houses two 10.25-inch screens that serve as your instrument cluster and infotainment touch display.
There's even an eight-speaker Sony sound system to bring the best out of your driving playlists.
Furthermore, the E5 offers great practicality with a WLTP-rated range of 430km from a 61kWh battery, as well as a decently-sized 380-litre boot.
Perhaps the most recognised star among the cars on display here, however, is a boxy offroader-esque SUV: The head-turning Jaecoo J6. In fact, during our time at Waterway Point, there was a non-stop flow of curious shoppers surrounding and exploring the car.
Though available with a more powerful (and versatile) all-wheel drive setup, the J6 was crucially also reintroduced in July 2025 with a single 99kW motor that made it eligible for a Cat A COE.
The J6 - which qualifies for a Cat A COE - was easily the most luminous machine at Waterway Point when we visited the roadshow
Like the E5, this particular J6 also doesn't incur an ARF, but boasts a modern and nicely-digitalised cabin that also feels well screwed together.
There's also its impressive sweep of safety assistance features including a Door Opening Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Change Warning, and even a 540-degree panoramic view camera.
Elements like a side-hinged rear door and door handles resembling grab bars add to the J6's thorough offroader aesthetic
But the most alluring quality of the J6 remains its offroader-like styling - with its boxy silhouette, upright head and taillights, and side-hinged tailgate. Few electric SUVs can rival its distinctiveness, especially at this price point.
And even if you're not keen to make the switch to full electric power just yet, the O&J family has something to offer still.
The plug-in hybrid J7 promises the best of the combustion and electric worlds by offering over 1,000km of driving range
Straddling both electric and combustion worlds deftly, the plug-in hybrid Jaecoo J7 boasts an on-paper range of over 1,000km with its fuel tank and 18.3kWh battery refilled with fuel and electrons respectively.
But that's not all; performance is also similarly generous, with its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and electric motor putting out an impressive total of 342bhp and 525Nm of torque.
The J7's cabin feels modern and upmarket with wraparound ambient lighting, and a 14.8-inch infotainment touchscreen
And while the J7 isn't as overtly rugged as the J6, its Range Rover-esque styling has a tough allure of its own. Just as importantly, it boasts similarly high levels of equipment as its siblings, including an eight-speaker Sony sound system, front ventilated seats, and a 14.8-inch infotainment touchscreen.
Regardless of whichever member of the trio you eventually opt for, authorised dealer Vertex Automobile has prepared a tantalising offer for all those who make a purchase here: A free upgrade to a dollar-to-dollar COE rebate. That should provide added assurance to dollar-conscious buyers regardless of how premiums swing in the sessions ahead.
The Omoda & Jaecoo x Sgcarmart Premium Brand Showcase can now be experienced up close at the atrium of Waterway Point's West Wing, from 10:00am to 10:00pm daily until next Tuesday (2 March 2026).
