The Jaecoo 8 Takumi Fujiwara Challenge

If you are a fan of Initial D, you would know that Takumi Fujiwara uses his Toyota Trueno AE86 to deliver tofu.
To prevent the fragile goods from damage, he drives with a cup of water in the cup holder - as long as the water doesn't spill, the tofu will remain intact. And this method honed the anime protagonist's driving skills to an unfathomable level.
Vertex Singapore has thought up a special challenge for the members of the media to experience the Jaecoo 8's trick suspension system
The Jaecoo 8 Takumi Fujiwara Challenge is a pre-launch special event that Vertex Automobile, the distributor of Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles here has thought up.
In order to demonstrate the Jaecoo 8's trick suspension system, members of the media were invited for a special preview of the car. The challenge of the day was to drive through South Buona Vista Road (also known as '99 Bends' due to its numerous sharp curves) without spilling water from a tumbler placed within the cupholder of the car.
As none of us have the skills that Takumi Fujiwara possesses, this task seemed to be impossible. But the point that the team from Vertex Automobile is trying to bring across is that the Jaecoo 8's CDC (Continuous Damping Control) suspension will be the magic bullet to bridge the gap, allowing the everyday driver to achieve and enjoy the extreme stability and smoothness that can even keep soft, fragile tofu safe on a twisty road.
Equipped with a special suspension developed by Sachs, the Jaecoo 8's suspension is able to adjust its dampening forces continuously to adapt to road conditions
Developed by Sachs, the Jaecoo 8's suspension uses electromagnetic valves to adjust dampening forces continuously, with the aid of sensors to adapt to real-time road conditions. This allows the car to greatly reduce body roll on turns and nose diving behaviour upon braking. The result is a stable and comfortable ride, while offering improved handling dynamics.
After driving through the notoriously twisty route, only a drop of water was spilt - I'm properly impressed!
After driving the car through the notorious '99 bends' without spilling more than one singular drop of water, I am quite convinced by the Jaecoo 8's suspension technology.
The Jaecoo 8 is expected to be officially launched on 5th May, readers can expect more information about the car then. Interested buyers can also reach out to Vertex Automobiles for more information.
