The fuel economy is a selling point, but you will only buy this if you truly like it :)
Was looking at this car since 202; Had a chance to enter the market at the right price this year and finally got it. Been driving this for 2 weeks and here's my take on the pros and cons of this car: Pros + the fuel economy is beyond expectation. 23-24km/l within my first 1000km on this car as compared to the 18.8km/l on paper. My routes are 70-30 highway-city. + power delivery is smooth + many safety features to help drive through tight areas + spacious on the back row though from front row it appears like the space is tight + customizable instrument cluster and driver profiles + boot space is sufficiently big cons - interior is almost identical to corolla - only 1 usb-c in front and 2 usb-c behind. If you need more, get a 12v usb charger (hidden within the centre compartment box) - no wireless android auto, got a AAwireless to work as a getaround and it works i think this car was conceived as an in-between of the 2.5l rav4 hybrid and the smaller 1.6l yaria cross. Personally feel that there would be more units on the road if the price package is more competitve. :)... Read More
The D2D SUV.
Saw this before Motor Show 2023 and had a go once and recently a 2nd try. First looks is distintive against its PI siblings which has full LED and handsomer looking too. In it was a 2.0L hybrid but no turbo as Toyota is into hybrid, so ditch turbo to all its models, like the Harrier to be reviewed later too. Not even plug in hybrid as its not practical too. Interior, comes with good solid plastic dashboard, full featured screen for your audio and car setting needs. Comes with many safety features like pre-collision, emergency assist, auto braking assist, lane tracking and departure assist, blind spot assist, parking assist, 360 camera too. Auto headlights and rain sensors are norm already, same goes for electric tailgate too. The drive is easy to control where the auto hold feature is off by standard, you need to on it whenever before move off. Engagement in normal mode is fine and being use for daily basis. When in sports mode or should you revved up, not sure why Toyota ditched turbo, it tends to be struggling during it. Otherwise, its a good consideration against many other 5 seater SUV around. Overall, its a good consideration to a SUV if you are getting one for its features and reliability in a Toyota.... Read More
