Volkswagen launches the Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition

The Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition is based on the concept car that was revealed at the SEMA Show in 2008, and contains cues taken from the TDI Cup race cars. The Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition will go on sale in the US at the beginning of 2010.

Among the race car additions include the front bumper, side skirts and rear valance, as well as larger brakes with red callipers, 18-inch alloy wheels with performance all-season tires, sway bars and a sportier tuned suspension.

The Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine that produces 140bhp, and comes with either a six-speed manual transmission, or the DSG dual-clutch semi-automatic system. The interior of the Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition comes with sports seats wrapped in Interlagos cloth and a multi-function leather steering wheel.
