Honda recalls 383,000 cars in the US

The problem has to do with a defective part in the ignition switch. It can allow the key to be removed from the switch, regardless if the (automatic transmission) shifter is in Park. If the 'park prawl' isn't set, the car can roll away, if the parking brake isn't set.
A number of "small incidents" have been reported, along with one minor injury.
The effected cars are the 2003 Honda Accord (197,000), the 2003 Honda Civic (117,000), and the 2003-2004 Honda Element (69,000).
Owners will be notified by mail, starting in September. After which, they'll be able to have their local Honda dealer replace the defective switch with a redesigned one, free of charge.
