Audi R8 Spyder wins motoring crown

MSN Cars is delighted to announce that the awesome Audi R8 Spyder is the winner of the seventh annual MSN Cars Car of the Year award.

With a top speed of 194mph and the ability to go from 0 to 62mph in 4.1 seconds, the iconic Audi roadster roared to the top of the annual poll on MSN Cars. Users were asked what their favourite car of 2010 was, and 43,648 people placed their vote.

The R8 Spyder collected 7,771 votes - or 18% of the total. The car was followed by two homegrown rivals in second and third place: the new Jaguar XJ, with 9% of the total, and the new four-door Aston Martin Rapide - on 7%.

The coupe version of this car won the award back in 2008, and I am not at all surprised to see the R8 coming back for more with its stunning open-top Spyder derivative.
