No strangers to car design, the artists at Lazzarini Design has released the first renderings of a new 550 Italia.Based on the Fiat 500, the model features an aerodynamic body kit with new bumpers, revised side skirts and a prominent rear wing. There's also a roof-mounted air intake, a dual exhaust system and a reinforced chassis.
Power comes from a rear-mounted, Ferrari 4.5-liter V8 engine that produces 542 bhp. As with the 458 Italia, it normally develops 563bhp but Lazzarini detuned it to optimise traction.
The design firm is said to be looking for an investor who is willing to spend $550,000 (S$704,000) for the development of their new "toy".
