Porsche has released details of the its latest 911 in 4-wheel drive guises. As with the tradition, the Carrera 4 lineup will be made up of four models - the 'base' trim Carrera 4 and the slightly more powerful Carrera 4S, in both coupe and cabriolet guises.
Starring the latest lineup, inevitably, is the firm's all-wheel drive system. In its latest edition, the system, which was fondly called 'Porsche Traction Management' or PTM for short, promises maximum dynamic performance on a wide variety of road surfaces. Adopting similar recipes as its two wheel drive stablemates, the Carrera 4 models manage to shed off substantial weight - up to 65 kilograms when compared to the previous generation. True to its heritage, the Carrera 4 offerings can be distinguished via the red light band connecting the two taillamps. Like its predecessors, another trademark of Carrera 4 models is the wider rear stance - in this case the wheel arches are 44mm wider than its lesser siblings. Leading the lineup will the be Carrera 4S, packed with 400bhp from the 3.8-litre flat-six at the rear, capable of despatching the coupe or cabriolet to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
The Carrera 4 will make its public debut at the Paris International Motor Show next month.
