Honda leaked a couple of images of the facelifted Civic a few weeks ago, and has now revealed the updated 2013 Civic Sedan and Coupe in full as it made its live debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week.
The Japanese automaker will be hoping the new exterior and interior changes of the new Civic will bring them more success after the recent criticism of the previous shape. The 2013 Civic has been comprehensively updated, receiving changes you'd expect of a mid-cycle refresh impressively implemented with a single model year.
Cosmetic updates have been restricted to the sedan in the form of a new, more sculpted hood, a black honeycomb mesh grille, new clear-lens corner lights, trunk lid, taillights, and restyled rear bumper, while every Civic sedan and coupe has a freshened interior, chassis and body structure.
It also sits on some newly designed alloy wheels. They have added soft-touch materials in the interior again, which had gone missing in the previous model. On the driving side, tweaks have been made to the steering and suspension for sharper handling. Under the hood, still sits the same 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine while the Si models receives the same 2.4-litre four-cylinder unit rated at 201bhp and 230Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual.
