Nissan has topped the charts again. Based on sales figures of light commercial vehicles from the Motor Traders Association of Singapore, Nissan is in the lead with 838 units over second placed Toyota, with 802 units, for the third year running.
Nissan boasts a strong line up of light commercial vehicles, from favourites like the Cabstar to newcomers like the Navara and they did their part to fuel the success story.
The NV200 compact van and Navara pickup truck were especially well received, earning their place in the best selling list of their respective categories.
With almost three out of every five compact vans registered in 2012 being the NV200, it is Singapore's best selling compact van for the third year in a row.
Being a new entrant to the market, the Navara was able to secure almost 50% of the segment, becoming Singapore's best selling pickup.
Mr Ron Lim, General Manager of Tan Chong Motors, commented that they are extremely delighted as it was an exemplary effort put in by the Nissan family in this extremely tough automobile market. Most of all, they would like to thank all their customers in believing and trusting the Nissan brand.
Joining the line up soon would be the all new Nissan NV350 Caravan (14-seater). This high roof wide body minibus sports a modern and clean exterior. The interior can accommodate 14 passengers comfortably with generous leg room. Powering it is a newly developed 2.5-litre YD25DDTi diesel engine that can deliver power equivalent to a 3.0-litre engine.
