The second round of COE bidding has concluded for the month of February, with a drop in prices across all categories following news that the Government is looking to review the categorisation of COEs.
Minister of State for Transport, Mrs Josephine Teo, mildly hinted early this month that a review is underway for the current classification of COE premiums - although there were suggestions that cars should tag COE premiums to the OMV (Open Market Value) of a vehicle than the current practice of engine capacity.
Category A premiums, for cars up to 1,600cc, dipped $8,808 - from $87,109 two weeks ago to $78,301.
Premiums for Category B, for cars larger than 1,600cc, ended the bidding at $92,667, a mere $234 drop from the previous tender.
Meanwhile premiums for the open category decreased to $91,910, a three percent drop from the previous bid of $94,890.
