Land Rover in contemplation of new entry-level model to rival MINI Countryman

When asked about the model, Land Rover's Global Brand Director, John Edwards, told Autocar, "We continue to look at opportunities for a smaller, cheaper Land Rover but we are also clear that we are looking at many opportunities for Land Rover to expand, in different segments, different price points and so on."
Edwards also further added that the brand had to evaluate where the best opportunities were.
It was speculated that the model would be built in India for emerging markets, but Edwards assured that any future model would be geared towards global audiences.
Land Rover is reportedly looking to expand their vehicle lineup with an entry-level model to slot below the Freelander 2.
