Renault's attempt to Captur your senses
26 Apr 2013|2,698 views
The new compact crossover from Renault accentuates a chic, upbeat lifestyle - one that claims will appeal to a broad spectrum of customers' tastes. The Captur can be ordered in various permutations of two-tone bodyworks, wheel colours, interior upholstery and graphic decals.
Based on the B platform which it shares with the Clio, the Captur is raised slightly to give the driver a better visual and a more commanding stance. On the other hand, features such as sliding rear bench, a large 11-litre drawer-type glove box, and up to 455 litres of cargo lugging space grant it good practicality.
The Captur will be powered by a lineup of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, ranging from a three-cylinder 898cc to a four-cylinder 1.2-litre. Diesel powertrain will emit just 95g of CO2 per kilometre, while sipping at 32km/L.
Special attention will be given to ensure consistent product quality and lessen its environmental footprint at the Valladolid plant in Spain, where the Captur is built. Renault claims that up to 16 percent of plastics used to build the car are from recycled sources.
Order books will open in May for the U.K. market - and we certainly wouldn't mind adding this bit of flavour to our local market.
