WRC icon Sebastien Loeb enters Porsche Carrera Cup Asia series

Porsche China, organisers of the inaugural Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, has announced that Sebastien Loeb will make his debut at the premier racing series. The nine-time FIA World Rally Champion will participate at the end of season race in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.


Commented Mr. Oliver Schwab, Motorsport Manager of Porsche China, "We are delighted to confirm Sebastien Loeb will make his Porsche Carrera Cup Asia debut with us at the Macau Grand Prix this year, and his participation is testament to the high regard in which the series is held not only in the region, but across the world."
Prior to his PCCA involvement, Sebastien has also participated in the pinnacle of Porsche's one-make series - the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, where he ran both the Spanish and Monaco races.
Sebastien is regarded as the most successful rally driver, having won nine World Rally Championship consecutively between 2004 and 2012. He is also well versed in other fields of motorsports, such as the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in U.S.A, where he set a record-breaking time of 8:13.878 earlier in July this year.

Also, for the first time in the series' ten-year history, drivers from the fellow series from Japan will compete on the same field. Four racing drivers from Porsche Carrera Cup Japan will join the lineup at the Guia circuit as part of a historic and unique event featuring stars from the sports car racing field.
