Mass test drive of CNG cars

Pinnacle Motors provided a much needed boost in the world of environmentally friendly automobiles yesterday when it organized a CNG car festival at Kallang. The event, allowed visitors to test drive any one of the five vehicles fitted with a CNG system from Italy.

With rising petrol prices, motorists might want to look at CNG as a greener and cheaper alternative. It is safer and pollutes the air a lot less.

Although CNG can now only be obtained from Jurong Island, that could be a thing of the past by the end of this month. The CNG station at Mandai will open by the end of this month. There will also be another station at Jalan Buruh and talks are on the way for a third station at Serangoon North.

Ms Valerie Tan, Managing Director of Pinnacle Motors said, "Gas provides a good alternative to defray the rising petrol cost without compromising on car ownership. The government's green tax rebate is also an attractive incentive which many are not aware of."

Many of Pinnacle's staff were on hand to provide answers to the questions members of the public had about owing a "green" car. Many visitors left with a lot more information about CNG cars than they had before.
