Over 60 MyCarForum (MCF) members spent yet another weekend at an MCF Hangout, this time with Perocom Auto Pte Ltd, the authorised distributor of Perodua vehicles in Singapore.

The highlight of the event was the new Myvi, the latest iteration of the famed compact hatchback produced by the Malaysian manufacturer. Now in its third generation, the honest and adorable little roundabout, has previously already won the hearts of many - from small families to first-time car owners.

Apart from the Perocom Auto team, sgCarMart Editorial Team member Idris Talib was also present to share his experience behind the wheel of the new Myvi.

Speaking at the event, he said, "With its generous space and perky drive, the Perodua Myvi will appeal to buyers looking for a cheerful car on a budget. The new Myvi is 205mm longer in total than the previous generation model, including a wheelbase that's longer by 60mm."

"You will also find that Perodua has got the basics right when you step inside the car. The cabin feels well thought-out, and the car comes with must-have features like Bluetooth and USB connectivity," he added.

In a show of support for its Singapore dealership, Naruhiko Kosaka, Divisional Executive Coordinator, and Tengku Izzuddin, Assistant Manager, Export Planning & Development, from Perodua were on site to speak to guests who wanted to know more.

And of course, guests were also invited to test drive the new Myvi, which is available with two engine choices - a 1.3-litre variant as well as a 1.5-litre model that offers a slight bump in power and visual enhancements.

One of the guests, who only wanted to be known as Mr. Tan, commented on his test drive experience, saying, "The Myvi's 1.3-litre engine is surprisingly perky and definitely enough for daily usage. I also found that space, especially in the back, is surprisingly generous for a compact hatchback. It's definitely worthy of serious consideration!"

The event also catered to kids, who got to enjoy balloon sculptures and a play cards stacking competition. Guests were also treated to a lavish buffet lunch, as well as attractive $2,000 cashback deals for the day.
