The MCF Hangout with Skoda brought members together to experience Skoda's award-winning excellence.
After a five-year hiatus from the Singapore market, Czech manufacturer made its comeback earlier this year in March, this time under the banner of the Volkswagen Group Singapore. The Skoda Centre Singapore, co-located with the Volkswagen Centre Singapore at the Leng Kee automotive belt, was the location of last Thurday evening's MyCarForum (MCF) Hangout with Skoda.

The Skoda Centre Singapore, co-located with the Volkswagen Centre Singapore at the Leng Kee automotive belt, was the location of last Thurday evening's MyCarForum (MCF) Hangout with Skoda.

During the event, MCF members were introduced to the extensive history of the Czech brand. Founded in 1895 as Laurin & Klement, the brand initially produced bicycles and motorcycles before transitioning to producing cars. This makes Skoda one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world.

Of course, guests at the event weren't there to attend a history lesson. They were there to learn more about Skoda's new offerings, ranging from compact cars like the Skoda Rapid Spaceback to the seven-seater Kodiaq SUV. In fact, two models - the Skoda Octavia and the Skoda Karoq - were named among the best cars of 2018 at the 'Best Cars 2018' awards.
sgCarMart Editor Julian Kho was also on hand to share his experiences with the Skoda Superb, the brand's executive sedan offering. During his presentation, he highlighted the Superb's ample space, ingenious solutions to enhance practicality, as well as the car's impeccably comfortable drive, all offered at a very attractive price point.

The Skoda Superb delivers exceptional space and comfort for its passengers, especially at the rear. Thanks to the car's long 2,841mm wheelbase, rear passengers have loung-like amounts of legroom, allowing them to ride in sheer comfort. The car's plush suspension and smooth yet gutsy 2.0-litre powerplant makes for easy and effortless cruising.

As part of the MCF Hangout, guests also had the chance to test drive the full range of models on offer. It was clear that the Kodiaq was popular among guests, especially those looking for a comfortable and well-equipped SUV that will cater to a large family's needs. After all, the Kodiaq is offered as a seven-seater, and is a considerably more affordable option compared to other European seven-seater SUVs. Guests who test drove the Kodiaq also came away impressed by its assured handling and supple ride.

No MCF Hangout would be complete without generous amounts of food and a lucky draw, where two lucky winners each walked away with attractive grocery vouchers.
