Revitalise your car's paintwork with Volkswagen's Diamondbrite package

Medi-aesthetic practitioner Dr. Joanna Chan, who spends most of her days working on the skin of others at Mizu Aesthetic, rarely has the luxury of time to focus on her car's. But it's not that she doesn't care about it. In fact, the 30-year old says that because of the rim design, and the Special Edition body kit that makes it look lower, she especially loves her 2013 Jetta Sport.
However, with a couple of years of exposure to the sun and rain, its paintwork has started to look a bit rough around the edges. To make up for the lack of tender loving care it normally receives, Dr. Chan decided to call on the experts at Volkswagen and Diamondbrite to give it a little freshening up, having previously heard of its benefits.
Is this a new service?

This involves the repairing and repainting of small dents and scratches on your car, followed by paint correction and the application of Diamondbrite nano sealant to give its paintwork extra shine and protection against the elements, bird droppings, tree sap and dust.
For those who have never heard of Diamondbrite before, it is a paint sealant, which forms a hard, high-gloss protective skin over your car's paintwork. It is formulated into a two-stage process and, unlike ceramic coatings, does not contain silicone. Hence, it isn't brittle and prone to cracking. There is also no Teflon used, which is carcinogenic, making Diamondbrite an environmentally-friendly product.
Interesting, how much is this going to cost?
There are two Diamondbrite packages offered by Volkswagen Centre Singapore. The first is a more affordable $850 'Package A', which Dr. Chan has opted for.
With Package A, your car will be thoroughly washed down, decontaminated and given a detailed polishing before one coat each of Diamondbrite's Stage 1 and Stage 2 nano sealants are applied.
Preparing the paintwork is the most important step, hence the need for decontamination and polishing to ensure a smooth surface for the Diamondbrite to sit. The interior of your car will also be given a good once-over.
To maintain your car's new shine post Diamondbrite application, use the Diamondbrite Conserver, which comes complimentary, on a monthly basis. The conserver is a rinse aid, not a polish and has been specially formulated to be non-foaming to maintain post-Diamondbrite protection.
It can also be used neat to remove minor blemishes and stains. In order to maintain the protection for six years, Diamondbrite recommends continued usage of the Conserver, which can be obtained from Volkswagen Centre Singapore.
There is also a slightly pricier $1,250 Package B on offer that comes with four sessions of aftercare maintenance - once every three months - on top of the aforementioned Package A's.
While you're at it, you can also choose to add on Volkswagen's value-for-money air-con care packages to keep your car's air-con system free from foul odour and potential health hazards resulting from the build-up of bacteria, mould or fungus.
But there's more than just a peace of mind when choosing to do this with Volkswagen Centre Singapore…

More importantly, the Diamondbrite application process will be carried out under the watchful eyes of Volkswagen's trained technicians, for further peace of mind. Customers are also welcome to grab a cup of coffee from the Volks Cafe if they are waiting in the showroom, or make use of the shuttle services to Queenstown MRT or Alexandra Central Mall.
Was Dr. Chan happy with the results?
Collecting her car, Dr. Chan said, "Diamondbrite is amazing! The sealant has brought back the shine to my car and I'm so glad to be able to try it out. My car turns five next week and this is such a timely 'gift' to my Jetta! I would definitely recommend it to others. In fact, a friend of mine who drives a Volkswagen saw my post and I've told him about Diamondbrite, too!"
