BMW has officially revealed the new 2014 Z4 ahead of its launch early next year. The model will also be featured at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show in Jan 2013.
The most important change is the addition of a new entry level variant that will be offered in Europe and other regions of the world. The sDrive18i comes with a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 154bhp and 240Nm of torque. The engine will be connected to a six-speed manual as standard but also can be linked to an optional eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Fitted with this engine, the 2014 Z4 is capable of doing the century sprint in under 7.9 seconds (Manual transmission) or 8.1 seconds (Auto transmission) with a top speed of 221km/h. In terms of fuel economy, the sDrive18i is able to return 6.8L/100km in the combined cycle.
In terms of styling, the LED headlights, fascias and fender vents have been revised, along with new designs for the 17 and 18-inch alloy wheels. BMW has also redesigned the tapered surround of the side indicators.
