BMW 1-Series Performance Concept to be showcased at Frankfurt

Inside, the concept comes with sport pedals, a three-spoke steering wheel with a flattened bottom trimmed in Alcantara and a carbon fibre gear lever. BMW also adds that the 1-Series Performance Concept sports a tuned suspension, an 18-inch brake system, which is characterised by reduced weight and high thermal resistance, and newly designed 19-inch light alloy wheels.
Aside from the 1-Series Performance Concept, BMW will also showcase a range of Performance packages for existing models. A power kit is available for all BMW models with the latest inline-six engine, such as the 135i Coupe and Convertible, and the 335i models, including the sedan, coupe, convertible, and Touring estate.
The power kit consists of a modified engine management system that increases the 3.0-litre turbocharged engine’s output by 20bhp, to 326bhp, and its torque to 430Nm for models equipped with a the manual gearbox and 450Nm for those with the six-speed auto or seven-speed double clutch transmission. BMW Performance also offers a second, track-oriented version of the power kit, which includes an additional aluminum radiator
BMW will also launch the M Performance line at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which includes new products for the powertrain, the suspension, aerodynamics and the interior. The Performance M accessories for the X5 M and the X6 M consist of 21-inch double-spoke light alloy wheels, a carbon fibre front splitter, a black grille, new side skirts and a new rear spoiler and tail fins in black, while in the cabin, the steering wheel is covered in Alcantara and has a flat bottom section.
