The new BMW M5 has sealed its fate as one of the fastest four door sedan to have ever gone around the Nurburgring. The new force induced M5 was recently clocked at 7 minutes 55 seconds around the 'Green Hell'. That takes over 18 seconds off the older E60 M5's time around the Ring. The time also obliterates the lap times of cars like the Porsche 996 Turbo, Audi RS4, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and the Aston Martin DBS just to name a few.
While there hasn't been any official word from BMW as yet with details of which BMW test driver was involved, the result has made the new M5 even more tantalising.
The new M5 features an all new 4.4-litre V8 under the hood. A breakway from the M5's naturally aspirated history. The bruising sedan delivers 560bhp with a dizzying torque figure of 680Nm. This propels it from 0 to 100kmh in less than 4.4 seconds.
