Construction of S'pore-KL High Speed Rail could begin in Q3 next year

KL Transport officials have confirmed that the Singapore-KL High Speed Rail (HSR) project will have seven stops in Malaysia, namely Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat and Nusajaya.
The news was confirmed by Chairman of Malaysia's Land Public Transport Commission, Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar. While the actual date has not been fixed, construction could begin as early as Q3 next year.
Updating on the HSR project at a conference in Tokyo, Mr. Syed Hamid said that Malaysia has completed its feasibility study, which has been shared with Singapore.
He also added that before work can start, details such as financing and the exact location of the train stations have to be firmed up.
With the new HSR, commuters will only take 90 minutes to travel between Singapore and KL.
