EcuTek ProECU tuning suite for the Honda Civic Type R
06 Oct 2016|3,123 views
London-based tuning specialist EcuTek, established in 2001, has perfected a unique approach to vehicle tuning, which retains the vehicle's factory Engine Control Unit (ECU). EcuTek's approach to aftermarket tuning sees the company developing software that provides access to the manufacturer's ECU code, allowing it to be not only modified, but also added to.
This gives the company's global network of expert tuners the ability to modify engine-running parameters and create new calibrations for increased performance and improved fuel economy. It also means third-party tuning hardware such as a forced-induction kit can be integrated seamlessly and controlled with accuracy.
Also, the company's additional software features, which include RaceROM and Custom Maps, give tuners the ability to add new, previously unavailable functions. These include a specific calibration optimised for running E85 or Flex-Fuel, Flat-Foot Shift - which allows gearshifts to be made without lifting off the accelerator - and adjustable Launch Control to maximise traction on full-throttle standing starts.
In addition, as the ProECU Tuning Suite can read and clear engine diagnostic trouble codes and allows the live logging of all engine-running parameters, it is an invaluable diagnostic tool in its own right. EcuTek also provides its tuners with ongoing technical support, and all ProECU installations are regularly updated for free.
