Ginetta G60 launched

The G60 has a carbon fibre tub, and a body that is based on the Farbio GTS, which itself is based on the Farboud GT from 2002. The G60 inherited the Farbio’s body as a result of Ginetta’s takeover of Farbio last March. Ginetta will only produce 50 G60 cars, making it an exclusive model.

Ginetta has however redesigned the car and focused on reducing the car’s weight. Apart from its carbon fibre construction, the Ginetta G60 has no steering assistance, servo-assisted brakes, ABS or electronic stability control systems. As a result, it weighs just 1,100kg, or 400kg less than the GTS.

The G60 is powered by 3.7-litre naturally-aspirated V6, which is borrowed from the Ford Mustang, and produces 310bhp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and a Quaife limited-slip differential, while the suspension features wishbones on all four corners. This allows the lightweight G60 to go from 0-100km/h in less than 4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 265km/h.
