Sgcarmart has learnt that Inchcape Singapore & Greater China Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Jasmmine Wong has decided to leave Inchcape Singapore to join Abdul Latif Jameel, a nearly 80-year old network of diversified businesses, as Vice President of Mobility.
In her new VP role, she will be part of Abdul Latif Jameel's Mobility Executive Committee leading the automotive business. Abdul Latif Jameel Motors is one of the leading independent Toyota distributors in the world, and distributes other automotive brands across eight markets.
Borneo Motors, under Inchcape Singapore, is the authorised distributor of both Lexus and Toyota brands
Since joining Borneo Motors in 2017 as Managing Director, and subsequently taking on the role of Inchcape Singapore & Greater China CEO in 2020, Ms. Jasmmine Wong has been instrumental in driving the success of Singapore’s most prominent automotive brands, including Toyota, Lexus, Hino and Suzuki.
Under her leadership, markets have achieved consecutive Triple Crown Awards (number one brand for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and overall vehicle sales). Over the years, we've also seen the expansion of Inchcape Singapore's portfolio - growing market share, digitalising the customer experience, and opening new revenue streams, such as the expansion into the pre-owned sector.
As a prominent female leader in Singapore, Ms. Jasmmine Wong has also been a vocal advocate for sustainability mobility and green initiatives, as well as Corporate Social Responsibility.
In 2018, Borneo Motors was the first dealership in Asia to join the Castrol Carbon Neutral Programme. More recently in 2022, Borneo Motors partnered with SP Group to pilot Singapore’s first electric car-sharing and leasing programme with Toyota's first EV, the bZ4X. Such initiatives are important in achieving targets as set out in the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
