Kumho to supply tyres for the Volkswagen Taos

Kumho Tire has secured a contract with Volkswagen that will see the Taos SUV equipped with the Crugen HP71 as its original equipment tyre.

The Crugen HP71 is a premium tyre designed for crossovers and SUVs. Designed to deliver exceptional comfort, the tyre utilises Kumho's next generation rubber compounds, which are said to increase wear resistance as well as on-snow performance by over 20%. Wide circumferential grooves and 3D sipes, meanwhile, ensure handling and braking performance in all weather conditions.

Kumho is also the original equipment tyre supplier for the Volkswagen ID.4 battery electric SUV, which gets an electric vehicle-specific version of the Crugen HP71, designed to cope with the additional weight and torque of all-electric vehicles.
