"While retaining everything that's great about the Range Rover Evoque coupé, this new 5-Door bodystyle will offer customers even more choice, greater practicality, versatility and flexibility" said Land Rover's Managing Director Phil Popham.
Among the engines available for the Evoque include two diesel units, both of which are 2.2-litre in capacity and putting out either 150bhp or 190bhp. The sole petrol-powered engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit with direct fuel injection and twin variable valve timing, and churns out 240bhp.
Under the skin, the Evoque comes with an optional adaptive Dynamics System with MagneRide, which promises to offer a better balance between handling and ride quality, while Land Rover's trademark Terrain Response system manages the four-wheel-drive system in off-road conditions. The Evoque will also be the first Land Rover ever to be offered with two-wheel-drive only.
Inside, Land Rover has packed the Evoque with luxury features, with customers being able to specify premium leather options for the interior. There are also 60/40 folding seats with ISOFIX child seat mounts, and luggage capacity can be increased to 1445 litres if needed.
Technology innovations include a touch-screen display with dual-view technology, so that both driver and passenger can view separate functions and content on the same screen. Integrated Bluetooth and a range of USB and auxiliary inputs are also available, while there is also a new, high-end sound system from Meridian, which offers 17 speakers for a total of 825 W of surround-sound.
