As announced in May 2025, yet another Chinese EV brand has rocked up on Singapore's turf, with AVATR - the luxury sub-brand of Changan Automobile - making its foray into the local car market with its flagship model: The AVATR 11.
Said to combine the dramatic design of a supercar with the practicality and functionality of an SUV, the AVATR 11's sleek, aerodynamic silhouette is inspired by spacecraft aesthetics, such as its UFO-like front fascia, F-shaped LED headlamps, and a full-width LED taillights with star-ring detailing. Its modern profile also features frameless doors, electronic door handles, and a large panoramic sunroof with UV protection.
Inside, the mid-size coupe-SUV is upholstered in rich Nappa leather with a wraparound cockpit layout, while its front dual zero-gravity seats provide three levels of ventilation and heating, along with a massage function offering five modes and adjustable intensity. In the middle of it all, a 15.6-inch touchscreen is accompanied by a 10.25-inch full LCD driver display, as well as an additional 10.25-inch passenger screen, while a 25-speaker Meridian sound system is offered as standard.
One thing to note too, is that the AVATR models offered in Singapore will come without the Huawei operating system, which comes as standard in the Chinese market models.
Two variants of the AVATR 11 will be offered in Singapore: The Standard Range and the Long Range. Both are powered by a single motor that sends 230kW and 370Nm of torque to the rear wheels. Built on an 800V electric drive system, the Standard Range variant comes with a 90kWh battery offering a WLTP range of up to 475km, while the Long-Range has a 116kWh battery that delivers up to 600km on a full charge. With 240kW DC super charging, the Standard Range goes from 30-80% in 15 minutes, while the Long-Range takes 25 minutes.
As is the case with most current car models, the AVATR 11 is also programmed with a suite of intelligent driving assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and even automatic parking assist. In addition, a 360° surround view monitoring with transparent chassis imaging offers a comprehensive real-time view of the vehicle's surroundings.
But the AVATR 11 wasn't the only star of the event; guests were also treated to a rare preview of the AVATR 012, a limited-edition showpiece that only saw 700 units produced globally, and was co-designed by AVATR and Kim Jones, formerly of Dior Men's and Fendi Women's. Unfortunately, as of press time, this model won't be offered for sale.
Moving ahead, AVATR plans to launch both the AVATR 07 (another electric SUV) and the 06 (described as a sporty fastback sedan) in Singapore in 2026, with an eye on a fourth model being either a five- or six-seater MPV.
