Mercedes-AMG is offering an elegant and electrified coupe with superb agility and driving dynamics as well as exceptional everyday comfort with the new Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe.
The design of the GLE63 follows other cars of the AMG family with an AMG-specific radiator grille finished in high-gloss chrome. The stylish and striking coupe silhouette makes for a self-assured appearance with design lines that clearly convey the passion for performance.
The front apron features a dynamic jet-wing design and is painted in the vehicle colour with black air intakes. Imposing powerdomes on the bonnet and a front splitter finished in silver chrome bring emphasis to the sharper design of the coupe.
The base model is shod with 21-inch light-alloy wheels with AMG lettering as standard, while the S variant comes with 22-inch wheels.
A special AMG exhaust system with two rectangular high-gloss chrome-plated twin tailpipe trim elements completes the sporty look at the rear.
Further individualisation options are available with the AMG Night Package, which includes heat-insulating tinted windows, and a black finish for the front splitter, front and rear apron trim, inserts in the side skirts, mirror caps and window frames. The twin tailpipe trim elements are also finished in elegant high-gloss black.
The 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine in the new GLE63 Coupe delivers 563bhp in the base model and 603bhp in the S variant. Both variants are fitted with integrated EQ Boost starter-alternator. The EQ boost system combines a starter motor and an alternator into a single, powerful electric motor that is integrated between the engine and the transmission.
The system provides an additional 21bhp of power plus 250Nm of torque, which can be temporarily called upon for more spontaneous moving-off characteristics. It is also used as a power generator and supplies the 48V on-board electrical system, and allows the car to perform hybrid functions such as restarting the engine with the start/stop function.
The AMG-specific suspension configured for high vehicle dynamics is assisted by the active roll stabilisation system ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL. The system ensures that even in sporty situations near the limits, the vehicle's handling remains precisely controllable and extremely direct.
The system uses two independently operating, electromechanical actuators at the front and rear axles to reduce body roll when cornering, and to deliver more precise tuning of cornering behaviour and suspension travel under load.
The typical look and feel of an AMG is also delivered in the interior of the GLE63 Coupe, which is characterised by a resolutely sporty ambience with a dynamic and exclusive flair.
AMG seats are upholstered in nappa leather and feature an AMG-specific seat pattern layout with an 'AMG' badge in the front backrests. Other leather variants are optionally available. The S variant is further identified by its grey seat belts and contrasting stitching in the seats in silver grey. Individually adjustable ambient lighting comes as standard.
A three-spoke AMG Performance steering wheel with aluminium shift paddles provides optimum driver-oriented ergonomic design. In the base model, the steering wheel rim is lined in black nappa leather, while in the S variant it is upholstered in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre, and in each case features a black 12-o'clock marking. As a further option, there are the AMG steering wheel buttons for particularly fast setting of dynamically relevant parameters.
The centre console includes an AMG-specific control unit with additional switches that are used to regulate the three-stage Electronic Stability Programme, the manual transmission mode, the Adaptive Damping System, the optional AMG Performance exhaust system and the vehicle height.
Alongside the AMG brushed stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs, door sill panels and black floor mats with 'AMG' lettering accentuate the sporty look. A wide range of high-quality interior trim elements are available for further individualisation of the interior.
