MG's shining new knight in the electric compact crossover segment - the MGS5 EV - has been awarded a full five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP.
The car performed the best in the Adult Occupant Protection segment, where it achieved a stellar 90% score. It also achieved 82% for both the Child Occupant Protection and Vulnerable Road Users pillars, while scoring 78% for Safety Assist.
The latest news means that the MGS5 EV now joins its older siblings, including the MG HS and the MG4 EV, as venerable recipients of Euro NCAP's five-star rating.
All three models are supported by MG Pilot - the brand's comprehensive range of advanced driver assistance systems, which includes features such as of Collision Avoidance, Lane Safety, Blind Spot Detection and active emergency braking.
MG has also cited the MGS5 EV's "outstanding braking performance" as part of its excellent safety credentials. The car gets Continental's integrated braking booster system for EVs, comprising large brake discs (321mm front, 300mm rear) that help deliver impressive braking distance. From 100km/h, MG states that the MGS5 EV can decelerate to a standstill in just 35.5 metres.
